New Year’s Eve wasn’t lonely which I was thankful for. Wondering if it had to do with being prepared mentally for being alone on a holiday?
Dinner and a movie hasn’t happened in quite some time, especially since he’s been busy helping my parents. So to start the new year off with a date was perfect. I was a little disappointed to see the restaurant I wanted to go to closed, but plenty to choose from. I wasn’t even thinking of it being a holiday, I mean it’s not like we get them off anymore so it doesn’t enter my mind. lol
We saw True Grit and it was really good. Well worth the full price ticket. The place was just about full. We were ready not to like it, I mean isn’t it sacrilegious to remake a John Wayne movie? We figured they couldn’t possibly do it without messing it up. I know I went in ready to be disappointed and trying not to get my hopes up. What a great surprise to see that did it right and put their own twist on Cogburn that didn’t ruin his character but just made his part a little bit different. Jeff Bridges was hilarious as Cogburn. Now of course we need to watch the original True Grit to compare. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve seen it.
I wonder if they’ll remake Rooster Cogburn and the Lady. I can’t imagine who could fill Katherine Hepburn’s shoes, but then I didn’t think anyone could pull John Wayne off either. I’d definitely pay full price and sit in a packed house to see it
