Just wanted to share a few of the stories from Fire Wives of 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs from this weekend.   At least here in the midwest, it was another gorgeous, blue sky, perfect September day.  The kind that always reminds us of September 11, 2001.

Thanks to everyone for your dedication and for sharing this with us!

My husband did the Oklahoma City 9.11 Memorial Stair Climb yesterday. It was his first time if what I suspect will be many. This was the second year they had this climb in Okc and I am so proud of him. I worked the elevators for the climbers. The building we used only had 30 floors so the climbers went to the 29th floor and I took them back down to the first floor. They did 3 trips to the 29th floor and one to the 22nd floor. They guys did great!

He climbed for the same FF he climbed for last year. We had reached out to his family and shared pictures with them last year and I plan on doing the same for the FF I climbed for this year. I’m so glad I did it! His department (Escondido Fire Dept) had the biggest firefighter team climbing!

Here is a picture of my husband, a captain for Franklin Fire Department after he finished the stairclimb. This is his 3rd year of participating. The kids and I love to go and cheer for him!!!

IMG_0497 - CopyMy husband climbed 110 flights in Austin, TX today in remembrance of the 343 who gave their lives on 9/11. As an honor to his grandmother, who passed away last week, he wore his pink fire helmet that he bought to support her in her fight with cancer. This helmet has been across the US for our friends and family to sign and show their support. These stair climbs always mean something so special to us and this one had even more meaning. My husband’s grandma was so proud of the man he is and the selfless work he does. I know she was smiling down on him today.
