THE FIREFIGHTER’S PRAYER

When I’m called to duty God
wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life
whatever be its age
Help me to embrace a little child
before it is too late
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert
to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out
I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
to guard my neighbor and
protect his property
And if according to your will
I have to lose my life
bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife.

Prayer changes lives. Today I pray for the men and women writing and reading these prayer requests. That their prayers be bold and loud. Hearts and minds transformed. And the power of the Holy Spirit alive in this community of firefighters their wives and families. In Jesus name always. Amen!

Today I pray specifically for our marriages. That they be blanketed with unconditional love. That they are stronger because both spouses have the faith that love never fails. I pray that hearts will soften and hurts will be healed and that God will be at the center of all marriages. Blessed by Your Name, Lord Jesus!

For the wives whose husbands are working 48s (or longer) and working through the weekend. May they have strength and wisdom and patience and the right words for the few moments they will have to speak to their husbands. May their hands be busy, their burdens be light and their hearts be happy!
Thank you Jesus for gainful employment!

Please pray for a female FF at my husbands station. Her mother was recently put in hospice and she is hurting to say the least. She’s struggling with being at work instead of at the hospice house with her mother. Please lift them both up in your prayers. Thank you!

Please say a prayer for my husband’s station. There was an accident yesterday while testing equipment down by the river. Luckily no people were hurt, but one of their engines ended up in the river. It was a complete loss of the engine. Something malfunctioned and caused it to pop back into drive and roll over the blocks and right down the river bank. Two firefighters were standing in front of it, and one was on top of it operating the controls. Luckily all got out of the way and to safety, but this is a huge loss for their department.

    Father God,
Yesterday you kept us out of harm’s way and brought many of our firefighters safely home to their families. You protected us in ways we could never know or imagine. You are an awesome God and we feel undeserving in your presence.
Help us to see your awesomeness in new ways today. For our firefighters on their difficult runs. For the wives who must face a day alone, as a single mom. And for our children to always know that you are God and through you, all things are possible.
In the name of your son Jesus,
    Amen.

Father God….Please guide the visitors to this site as they learn about our upcoming Love Dare. May the Holy Spirit move in those who are thinking about trying it. That they take action, watch the movie, get the book and join the conversation. Please fill those who are unsure with hope and faith that their wounds can be healed and their marriages restored through your amazing love. Amen!!!

    Holy Father,
Through all the struggles, challenges, obstacles, lonely days and nights, help us, the wives of those whom you called to serve as firefighters, remember that our sacrifices are worth it. As we support them, they support the mission of loving our neighbors in a very real, dangerous way. You have told us that there is no greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for a friend. Each day our men head off to work, they recommit their willingness to lay down their life if needed, to save another’s. Surround us with your peace as we lay down to sleep and anxiety creeps in, tempting us with worries. Keep our men, Your servants, safe and allow them to return home to us once again in the morning! We LOVE you and will do our best to serve our husbands and You.
    Amen!!!

I am asking for prayers for my firefighter boyfriend. He will take a polygraph tomorrow to become a full time firefighter in our town. He has no reason to be nervous but is very nervous because he has heard so many negative stories. Please pray for his peace of mind and for all to go well. This is one of the last steps in the process of him getting the job he has wanted since he started being a volunteer firefighter 6 years ago!

Father God, we know that you are the way the truth and the light. Please be with this firefighter in all ways tomorrow during his test. May the Holy Spirit be active in him and Your will be done. Jesus be with him. Amen.

Today we pray for “Firefighter Close Calls”. Praising God for those who made it out. We know God you are the source of the knowledge and strength and courage of those who do. And we know you are by the side of those who don’t. God continue to bless Billy Goldfeder and the work he does for Firefighter Close Calls, making the fire service a safer place and bringing our husbands safely home to us. Amen!

Hi all! My husband start his first FT Firefighter job tomorrow morning and I’m asking for prayer that it will be everything and then some that he’s expecting and worked so hard for. He graduated
Summa Cum Laude from fire school in 2009 and it’s taken all this time for him to secure a FT position but fortunately its with the
City he’s always wanted to work for. I’m truly blessed and I THANK GOD every single moment of every day for him. We had our 19th wedding anniversary just a few days (9/5) ago and I’m so excited and a bit overwhelmed to begin this next leg of our marriage. Please pray he finds a crew of marriage-valuing God fearing men who will mentor him and keep him safe. Thanks! Looking forward to getting to know more fire wives!! God bless YOU all and your families richly!!
