My name is Jennifer Barr and my husband, Jeremie, has been a firefighter for about 12 years. We had only been married for about 3 months when he came to me and said “I think I want to go to fire school and be a fire fighter!” It took me by surprise, and definitely took some getting used to, but I wouldn’t trade these last 12 years for anything!
We have two beautiful sons, one here on earth, and one in Heaven. Our oldest son Matthew died on January 29, 2011 after a 3 1/2 year battle with brain cancer. He was 5 1/2 years old when he passed. Our youngest son, Darren, is now 5 years old and is in kindergarten. We are also trying to adopt a little brother or sister for Darren.
I was first introduced to Body by Vi by a friend of a friend, and it was actually for Matthew. The shake mix is very nutritious and she thought it would help give him strength and energy. He wouldn’t drink it, so I tried it and loved it! I lost 18 lbs in my first 2 months and felt fantastic.
During Matthew’s illness, I was blessed to be able to stay at home and care for him and for Darren. In the Fall of 2011, my husband told me it was time to go back to work…that was not an option for me. So I started promoting the Challenge and am now able to stay home with Darren and I don’t have to go back to work.
I love promoting the Body By Vi Challenge because I love to help people. I have witnessed so many amazing transformations in people with different health and medical issues. I also want to be able to give back to the many organizations that helped us during Matthew’s fight with cancer. I want to donate money to childhood cancer research and help other families affected by childhood cancer.
