strong women

May is generally about Mothers and Mother’s Day.  Our #servefirst program takes place on the first of every month and we encourage everyone, fire wives and everyone, to join in and do random acts of kindness and service in your own communities.  This May we want to focus on women role models in our life – past and present.  Mothers, women who are mother figures and women who long to be mothers but face struggles.  Strong women.  We need to know them, be them and raise them… together.

Is there a woman in your life who made an impact on you?

A woman who gives to everyone?  A woman who has struggles with conceiving that could use some extra love this month?  A woman who served as a motherly figure in your life, or the lives of others?  How about a mother who is struggling but gives her all?

Make a point to focus on them this #servefirst.  Reach out to the women in your lives and communities. Send her (or several hers) a card, flowers or do something special specifically for them.  Let them know that they are special, no matter what title they carry.  Inspire, encourage and uplift them.

And do it on May 1…. not the over commercialized official Mother’s Day 😉

A small town girl from Southwest Georgia who happens to value your marriage as much as she does her own. She is married to a firefighter who was a volunteer for several years, then transitioned into a career fireman the same month they married in 2008, and he is now a Captain at his full-time Department. They have two daughters, have been in the FFW family since 2012 and know marriage takes a lot of work, even when it's in the best seasons.
