Here are 10 reasons not to miss Flame Fest 2014 –the only fire industry event that aims to strengthen marriages and provide fire wives and families with a network of support! Flame Fest is hosted by FirefighterWife.com and will be held July 10-12 in Chicago IL and brought to you by our partners e3 Consulting Group and Low T Center. Let the countdown begin!
1. Quality time alone with your husband.
We dedicate ourselves daily to our kids, demanding jobs and hectic schedules – but how often do we take the time to nourish our marriages and ourselves? Flame Fest is a great opportunity to re-prioritize, make time for your marriage and re-ignite that lost spark.
2. Explore some of the leading fire service providers and products with hands on action “Touch-a-Truck Fire Wife Style”
Fire gear, fire trucks, fire safety equipment…. Oh My! We have gathered some of our favorite fire products and services to directly improve your life. And the fire wives get to try it out! We are calling it “Touch-a-Truck Fire Wife Style”. Put on the gear, add an air pack and navigate a rescue all on your own. This is going to be a blast! Sponsored by TECGEN XTREME
Featuring the Remembrance Rescue Project!
3. Realize you’re not alone in your fears or frustrations.
Interact with a community of Fire Wives and Husbands that you can relate to; our networking activities provide support and encouragement so you leave with the confidence to handle life’s’ many challenges.
4. Receive practical information from industry experts.
Acquire “real-life” tools to overcome the problems affecting the Fire Service community from industry experts: Crystal Paine, Tony & Alisa DiLorenzo, David Soler, Chief John Salka and Jeff Dill. Learn about financial and time management solutions, communication tactics and information on behavioral health issues. You will leave feeling empowered and physically and mentally supported!
5. Visit a new and exciting locale
How often do you get the chance to explore amazing Chicago, relax at a hotel pool or join in on a game of sand Volleyball? Give yourself the gift of a mini vacation without the guilt.
6. Participate in fun but educational activities
We have put together a fun-filled, educational weekend full networking events, seminars, product demos and notable speakers…our agenda also includes a Scavenger Hunt through Chicago, Flame Fest Ball, Touch a Truck, and Sisterhood Social including “Rescue Packs LIVE”. Our favorite Sisterhood Activity only it’s done in person and live.
7. Support a worthy cause near to your heart.
You know what the Fire Wife Community does best? GIVE. This year a portion of our event proceeds will go to Comfort Zone Camp, in partnership with NFFF, to provide a weekend bereavement camp for children of fallen firefighters. Send kids of fallen firefighters to camp? Why of course! We all want to help and here is one very specific way.
8. Meet new life-long friends
Relax, converse and have fun with the kindest, most fun group of fire couples you may ever meet. Guys your guys can relate too. Men who are tough and quality firefighters but not too tough to honor their marriage and family first. Those kind of guys. And yes, some guys who are a bit introverted and don’t like crowds but who come out to these kinds of things just to see the smile on their wife’s face. Men your husband will be exchanging phone numbers with to keep in touch. This is exactly what happened at Flame Fest 2013 in Atlanta.
9. Receive FREE goodies!
Every attendee receives a “swag bag” full of gifts, coupons and surprises from our sponsors and Firefighter Wife. Who doesn’t need a little more fire wife swag in her life?
Plus our RAFFLES are amazing! Check out this photo from the raffle table at Flame Fest 2013. Uh huh. I know you are thinking “where can I get one of those…..?”
10. Invest in your happiness and your life
Flame Fest is an event solely designed to help and support you! It is a place for firefighters and their spouses to reconnect, learn together, play together and be refreshed, renewed and encouraged by the strength of the fire family. We want you to leave together with hope and inspiration and tools and resources to make your marriage and life the best it can be.
Hear what last year’s attendees are saying about the event:
Heather: “I went to the first ever flame fest last year. The best thing it did for my marriage was that it showed my husband how much I support him and how much I want to make my marriage work.”
Rhonda: “I gained so much that weekend. I walked away with friendships that will last a lifetime. Finally being around these women that you connected with online just strengthens the friendships and brings the sisterhood together. I highly recommend going to Flame Fest 2014. It is an experience you wont regret, you will love every minute of it.”
Danielle: “What is so great about this is the benefits received at the conference – it is not your average conference, there is a lot of fun and bonding. In addition, we did receive important information about mental illness, substance abuse and cancer prevention among firefighters. This was important information that I was able to take back to our department as well as my husband and spread the world about these important issues.”
