My husband got a ready-made family when we married. I had a 5 year old at the time and while he got to skip all the being pregnant, infant and toddler stages, he got a child in this package deal. When we were dating and he automatically stepped into a leadership role with her as a father-like figure, I knew he was what I wanted for not only myself but for my daughter. Two years after we married we had another daughter, together. Seeing the way he helps raise our children is something that I just can’t explain.
If you don’t have children yet, have been trying, can’t… or even if you don’t want children. You can still see the way your spouse loves and nurtures others in your lives.
Parenting + Fire Schedules...
That Fire Schedule can really through a wrench in parenting plans, routines and outside schedules. I do not know of one family that doesn’t have to juggle life around all of the scheduling that comes with this lifestyle.
The Fire Wife Sisterhood currently has a Fire Families with Special Needs Children subgroup and a Blended Families of 24-7 Commitment subgroup opening soon. We know all too well what the fire service can do to family life and it is part of our mission to support and strengthen families too.
The Fire Wife Sisterhood for women married to or dating a firefighter and The Honor Guard for men devoted to their spouse. Basic Free Memberships available in both of these communities, and many other subgroups.
