Marriage Gratitude 19: My Spouse as a Parent

by | Everyday, Firefighter Marriage

Here we are on Day 19 of Thanksgiving for my Marriage.

Today we’re talking about parenthood.

My husband got a ready-made family when we married.  I had a 5 year old at the time and while he got to skip all the being pregnant, infant and toddler stages, he got a child in this package deal.  When we were dating and he automatically stepped into a leadership role with her as a father-like figure, I knew he was what I wanted for not only myself but for my daughter.  Two years after we married we had another daughter, together.

Seeing the way he helps raise our children is something that I just can’t explain.

If you don’t have children yet, have been trying, can’t… or even if you don’t want children.  You can still see the way your spouse loves and nurtures others in your lives.
