Day 28

We’re in the season in or around Thanksgiving and some of you will spend the holiday apart due to work schedules.  It’s hard to not be upset about not being together with family during the holidays.  With Christmas coming up, some of you feel like you don’t have so much too look forward too.  (Stay tuned on Facebook and we’ll be sharing posts soon about surviving the holidays solo!)

Firefighters, we know you don’t enjoy working on holidays and special occasions. Who does? A big thank you to those of you working trades to allow others to be home with their family for a holiday.  I look forward to the years my husband can offer to work for young families so that mommy and daddy can both be home for special days.

Today, I am grateful for every holiday worked so that people can be cared for or that someone else can have a holiday with their family.  And for our understanding together in our marriage that this is part of our lifestyle.

Find those kind of new friends in our  24-7 COMMITMENT communities.

The Fire Wife Sisterhood is for women married to or dating a firefighter and the 24-7 Commitment Honor Guard for men who are devoted to their marriages and firefighting.

Jessie -

A small town girl from Southwest Georgia who happens to value your marriage as much as she does her own. She is married to a firefighter who was a volunteer for several years, then transitioned into a career fireman the same month they married in 2008, and he is now a Captain at his full-time Department. They have two daughters, have been in the FFW family since 2012 and know marriage takes a lot of work, even when it's in the best seasons.
