Fire Family Friends,
If you’ve been a fire family for awhile, you know it’s always been on-the-job training, with no instruction manual.
You’ve learned how to tell by the look on your firefighter’s face what kind of night he had. You’ve learned how to soothe your own nagging worry when he’s on shift. And you’ve learned that the work–for either of you—doesn’t end when he leaves the firehouse.
Now it’s time to bring the honor and commitment given to the fire service into your home as well.
It’s time for that instruction manual!
Last fall I rolled up my sleeves and got to work on my vision of turning all of our resources here at FirefighterWife into an all-in-one guidebook for fire families. Over the past month, I’ve made this my focus, disappearing from social media (okay…mostly) and diving in to bring this book through the final stages.
It’s the A to Z guidebook for the fire life: everything from schedules and holidays to trust and communication, from Murphy’s law of shift days to what years and years on a stressful job may look like.

Our hope is that this book crosses the threshold of every firehouse in America and makes its way into the homes of firefighters everywhere. Starting with you.
With gratitude,
The FirefighterWife Team
