The loss of a firefighter is felt nationwide. Every line of duty death (LODD), no matter how close we were to them, our hearts are all directly impacted in one way or another. Our hearts can never be prepared for a LODD, but Chapter 16 gives you some ideas on other ways we can be prepared so our hearts have the time they need to heal.
